What you should know about Happy Hockers

In 1993 they purchased the oldest pawn broker in Kings Cross, their mission was to take pawn booking out of the dismal ages and promote a happy, pleasant and fresh experience in borrowing cash, and buying and selling of second hand goods. They love searching for and unearthing interesting items. What makes them different is that they are willing and qualified to go the surplus mile for their customers and they are genuinely interested in the stories behind some of the interesting items they are offered. Aaron started Happy dockers in 1993, the beginning shop being in Kings Cross. An existing business was bought that had been there for over 50 years, so in essence the business has been running in Kings Cross for a very long time. Aaron has a passion for used items, loves the story after each item, why a person owns the item and how it came into their possession. I don't know what it is, but I love people's collections and the stories behind them. For me, I love the journey and it makes me laugh ! Ben shares the identical passion with Aaron of garagenalia, vintage posters and watches but the two brothers are quite different. Ben attention to detail is second to none, he will find a needle in a haystack! He is flawless and has a vast depth of knowledge in the items he loves. With his degree in Graphic Design, Ben keeps the shops looking good, the stock in the right places and always complains how hopeless Aaron and Shannon are with the shop displays. Ben is often heard saying how much he loves the patina of some of the impaired items we see. Shannon is a life long ally of the boys. Shannon, with his younger brother had a accessible relationship with Aaron and Ben which quiet exists today. It was 2006 when Shannon was talking with Aaron saying he has fair sold his cafes and was looking for a change. The boys started selling stock on line, and the next thing you know, Shannon is running the day to day operation of the company. Shannon has a huge depth of knowledge and a love for history. Shannon spends half his time, trying to navigate his way between the 2 brothers. Not to displease either of them or receive sides ! We'd love to hear from you or answer any questions about second hand goods.

We are all familiar with the brand Tiffany but what is the history after the name?, as we always have a large amount of Tiffany items in stock we did the homework for you! Young in New York City in 1837 as a stationery and fancy goods' emporium, the place initially sold a expansive variety of stationery items, and operated as Tiffany, Young and Ellis in Below Manhattan. The name was shortened to Tiffany Company in 1853 when Charles Tiffany took control and established the firm's emphasis on jewellery. This gave Tiffany the ability to make executive choices without being lower the shadow of his father any longer Tiffany was able to focus his original energies on his jewellery. Tiffany began to experiment with jewellery designs in 1902 at Tiffany Furnaces, with the intent of showing his pieces as piece of Tiffany Co.’s display at the St. It was the perfect venue for him to show his range of talent in a variety of media. All the jewellery Tiffany made during this time was stamped with Louis C. Tiffany, along with Artist.Unfortunately there are no surviving day books nor ledgers to assist yield information on how Tiffany went about his jewellery prior to 1907, however his exhibit at the St. Louis Exposition provides some knowledge of his ventures. Most of Tiffany’s work has a lot of patterns, and looks ambitious but his use of color makes his work stand out from everyone else’s. He uses mostly different tones of greens, blues and yellows in his glass labor and lamps. Once Tiffany and Co.’s began to manufacture his jewellery, there was a marked evolution in his pieces. His former pieces went from being made in a hand wrought looking manner, to a much more symmetrical and stylized fashion. There was a great variety of jewellery produced during the 26 years that Louis Tiffany’s enameling and jewellery division was in operation at Tiffany Co. It has been estimated that nearly 5,500 pieces were produced during that time, an impressive amount considering the detail and craftsmanship in each piece. He produced the same tall quality artisan ship that was very much cherished during the Arts and Crafts movement, and liked to use lots of patterns and color in his work, and quite a lot of his work included animals, trees and flowers. IE nonetheless is the market leader and a large component to folks will exit out your huge writing due to this problem. It is actually a nice and handy portion of info. Stuck for a gift to purchase the man in your life? We'd love to hear from you or answer any questions about second hand goods.
